This has been observed that many travelers inquired about tour couple of days before the tour date, so this is recommendable to plan and book your tour at least 2 weeks prior departure date and two months before for international tour.
Packing
If you are planning for a tour, especially to Nothern areas then you must have warm clothes with you rather it would come in use or not but you must have with you on tour. Pack pants/trousers and shirts preferably casually and easy to wear an equal number of tour days. casual shoes or joggers are must along with an extra pair of shoes. A softy or sandals is also preferable. Also pack cap, shemagh scarf, sunglasses, bodyspray, torch, travel neck pillow, multiple pair of socks, and water bottle with you.
You need a travel towel
It is good to have a personal travel towel. Travel towels are quick-drying, incredibly lightweight, and fold up so small! you would never travel without your one once you used it.
Always Have rain protections
Before traveling to any place, a traveler needs to check google weather for a specific place. a raincoat, umbrella, or parka is must have with you if weather predicts. For travel in the mountains, it is advisable to have a raincoat with you even it is alarming in the weather forecast or not on the safe side.
Electronics
Always have an extra USB charger, Universal adapter/travel plug, Power Bank, headphone, portable hard drives.
Health checkup before you travel
Visit your doctor and dentist for a checkup before your tour departure. Few basic lab tests can also be helpful.
Invest in a good camera
Your photos will be some of your best memories, so invest in a good camera, selfie stick or tripod. If your budget allows then a good option is to have a DSLR / mirrorless camera and another option could be action camera like GoPro or insta360 type cameras, of course, take the time to understand how it works before you leave.
The Best Carry-On Travel Backpacks
Rucksacks or Dry bags are amazing for keeping your valuables safe on northern areas trips and for protecting any electronics you have in your daypack with you. Most of the rucksacks have the best feature or rain cover that protects the bag when it starts to rain. For a travel or hike daypack is the best option to carry necessary items with you by keeping left items at the hotel
Carry around CNIC or Passport copies
Always keep CINC or passport photocopy with you to provide in a hotel or security check post if demanded.
Carry a basic first-aid kit.
Accidents happen so be prepared for any unfortunate. You can take antibacterial cream, band-aids, and ointments for minor cuts and scrapes. Other then bandages you can have some basic medicines. You never know when you’re going to need it and you can’t always get it when you travel.
Travel day dress
For a long road journey always prefer to put a very comfortable dress and shoes along with a neck travel pillow. Always try to have a day pack bag near you by having power bank, headphones, external hard disk, laptop, first aid kid along with any medicine you use regularly, and some extra layer hoodies/ fleece-jacket for emergency use.
Use sunscreen every day
When you travel to Nothern areas, you’re in the sun that can harm your skin more. Wear sunscreen every single day, regardless of the weather and temperature, because you really don’t want your memorable pictures in tanned skin.
Take more photos of yourself
There have been so many times when I’ve been too shy to ask someone to take my photo in a place and I’ve almost always regretted it. After eight years of travel, I probably only have around 200 photos of me around the world. Photos of the beautiful places you visit are great and all, but when you get home, they’re not all that different from the ones everyone else has taken there, too. Photos with you in them are special and they’ll mean a lot more to you when you look back at them.
Back up everything in multiple places
There have been so many times when I’ve been too shy to ask someone to imagine how you’d feel if you lost every single photo from your trip. You really don’t want that to happen, so back everything up, in multiple places. You can have copies of your photos in the laptop, back all of the photos up to an external hard drive, and use abt cloud platform to backup the entire contents of your laptop to the cloud.
Bring ear plugs and a sleep mask
Every local city has its own language and traditions so You’ll gain more If you are joining a group tour or have a plan to share hotel/hostel room then you must have earplugs to any unavoidable noises you could disturb by or the same way you can be distracted by any light source so sleep mask is the best solution to that problem.
Travel in off season to save money and avoid the crowds
the off-season is a favorite time to travel for most of the traveler. The weather is usually mildest, everything is more affordable than in peak season, and there are fewer people visiting, too.
Give friends n family copies of your itinerary
From a safety perspective, it’s good to have several people back home who know where you’ll be. Especially while traveling in remote areas where some mobile signals can suffer, your friend n family should know which area/hotel you could be, so they can call you direct hotel landline to contact you. If you travel by a travel company then you can share your guide/driver number with your loved once.
Pack your luggage the night before travel
A professional traveler always loves to pack luggage at night so it will save time on the next morning to save travel time and always try to wake up and start travel to the next destination in the early morning.
Try the local food
Food is the most recommended way to get to know a place and food better. Don’t ask what it is, just put it in your mouth and see if you like it. If you put your guard up, you might miss out on some unusual and delicious local cuisine.
Get up Early
It has been observed tourists get up late and go for a destination late and reach the back hotel at night. As compared to the best routine of travelers who wakes up early and visits tourist points before getting crowded causing excellent photographs. photos of natural places in crowded places can’t provide that feeling that comes in isolation. Another fact of visiting lakes in the early morning provides you surrounding reflection to provide extraordinary photos.
Visit the local markets
Local markets are the favorite way to get to know a place and locals better. The best thing could be to love checking out the strange foods, seeing how the locals shop, and discovering what’s popular in a particular country. Night markets in Pakistan Northern areas are especially fun!
